POSITION SUMMARY
We are excited to present an opportunity for a Tax Compliance Manager. This role is a vital component of the tax compliance team, primarily focused on domestic compliance and tax accounting for the Sports and Entertainment sectors of Fox News Network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examine corporate and partnership federal, state, and local income tax returns in alignment with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Evaluate quarterly estimated tax payments and tax return extensions, ensuring timely monitoring of payment deadlines.
- Analyze interim and year-end tax provisions, emphasizing the current taxable income calculation and validation of deferred balances in accordance with ASC 740.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to gather and assess financial data for designated business divisions, documenting calculations, assumptions, and conclusions to support income tax filings and forecasts.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business operations for assigned divisions.
- Assist in responding to tax notices, including liaising with tax authorities to resolve inquiries and disputes.
- Oversee the daily management of tax team members and/or consultants on designated projects.
- Provide tax support to various corporate and operational groups.
- Contribute to various initiatives related to income tax audits and strategic planning.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 7+ years of experience in domestic income tax compliance; experience in public accounting with a nationally recognized firm is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of domestic corporate and partnership income tax principles.
- Strong grasp of fundamental tax accounting concepts.
- Excellent tax technical research capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to perform responsibilities independently and efficiently in a remote setting.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient in Excel (including pivot tables, Xlookup, and logical formulas).
- Degree in accounting, along with an MBT and/or CPA certification.
- Experience in public accounting with a nationally recognized firm.
- Familiarity with Corptax, Alteryx, and Workday.
