Job Summary:

Forrest General Hospital seeks a skilled System Administrator to join our team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of systems that support various departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software and associated systems, as well as experience with workflow analysis, data collection, and database customization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Installing, maintaining, and supporting systems that support various departments
  • Participating in workflow analysis, data collection, and database customization
  • Providing software modifications to support existing processes and producing new software and processes as needed
  • Troubleshooting critical business processes and repairing or recovering from software and hardware failures
  • Contributing to and maintaining standards and procedures, researching solutions, and recommending approaches to leverage resources and automate tasks
  • Daily system monitoring for integrity and availability, log review, and verification of scheduled jobs, including backups

Performance Expectations:
  • Demonstrates the ability to be self-sufficient, lead, and responsible for supported systems

Qualifications:

Education/Skills:
Minimum of Associate Degree or equivalent education or extensive work experience in the direct applications/systems.

Work Experience:
Five or more years' experience in IS required; healthcare preferred. Required to have a working knowledge of customer departments operations including software/systems and be able to use an analytical approach. Organization ability and strong communication skills are required.

Mental Demands:
Exceptional oral and written skills are required. The individual must have the ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, manage conflict, prioritize multiple tasks, exhibit leadership, and demonstrate self-motivation. Ability to understand and analyze oral and written statements concerning a variety of business and technical problems. Ability to take orders and follow directions precisely and demonstrate initiative. Ability to perform duties under various levels of stress & time restraints.
