Position Overview

  • We are seeking a seasoned Civil Engineer with a minimum of eight years of expertise in the design and implementation of site development, grading, drainage systems, utility frameworks, roadway construction, and erosion control strategies.

  • The ideal candidate will be driven to enhance and expand the Civil Engineering Department.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficient Engineering Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in leading an internal project team to develop Construction Documents for site projects.
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical tasks.
  • Positive contributor to the overall culture, goals, and morale of the office and department.
  • Manage and oversee multiple projects concurrently and profitably.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders at project sites.
  • Experience in coordinating designs and drawings with external consultants, including Architects, Owners, and Engineers.
  • Strong organizational, technical, and communication abilities.
  • Commitment to efficient task completion within established timelines.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering personnel.
  • Execute work in alignment with agreed budgets and schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Skilled in Hydro CAD, Storm CAD, and SWWM (or similar) stormwater modeling software.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MS Office, and Google Apps.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consulting services for both internal and external clients utilizing Civil/Site Engineering expertise, including site grading analysis, drainage design, utility layout, and erosion control design.
  • Lead a project team of junior and experienced engineers to fulfill project design deliverables.
  • Oversee the development of preliminary to final design calculations and drawings.
  • Conduct site due diligence and entitlement investigations.
  • Review field data and perform inspections of existing stormwater facilities.
  • Engage in technical writing for design reports and permitting applications.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and a variety of Civil Engineering design software applications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in Site Grading, Earthwork Calculations, Road Design, Drainage (Calculations & Reports), Utility Layout & Sizing, Technical Report Writing, and cost estimation.
  • Familiarity with Construction Documentation for State, Federal, and Private projects.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance from the U.S. Government is required.
