Position Overview

We are seeking a Civil Engineer with a minimum of eight years of expertise in the design and management of site development, grading, drainage systems, utility infrastructure, roadways, and erosion control strategies. Key Qualifications

Essential Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience in leading and supervising internal project teams in the creation of Construction Documents for site development.
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical assignments.
  • Positive contributor to the overall goals, culture, and morale of the office and department.
  • Manage and effectively participate in multiple projects simultaneously and profitably.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders at project sites.
  • Experience in coordinating designs and drawings with external consultants, including architects and engineers.
  • Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to efficiency in completing tasks within set schedule constraints.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff.
  • Perform work in alignment with agreed budgets and timelines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software.
  • Experience with stormwater modeling programs such as Hydro CAD, Storm CAD, and SWWM.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MS Office, and Google Apps.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver consulting services to both internal and external clients utilizing Civil/Site Engineering expertise, including site grading analysis, drainage design, utility layout, and erosion control measures.
  • Lead a project team of junior and experienced engineers to achieve project design deliverables.
  • Oversee the development of design calculations and drawings from preliminary to final stages.
  • Conduct site due diligence and entitlement investigations, providing thorough reporting.
  • Review field data and perform inspections of existing stormwater facilities.
  • Engage in technical writing for design reports and permitting applications.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and various Civil Engineering design software applications effectively.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in site grading, earthwork calculations, road design, drainage calculations and reports, utility layout, technical report writing, and preparation of technical specifications.
  • Experience in construction documentation for various project types including state, federal, and private sectors.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance from the U.S. Government.
