Key Qualifications
Essential Engineering Skills and Responsibilities:
- Proven experience in supervising and leading project teams in the creation of Construction Documents for site development.
- Ability to work independently on complex technical assignments.
- Positive contributor to the overall goals, culture, and morale of the office and department.
- Capable of managing and participating in multiple projects simultaneously and profitably.
- Skilled in building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Experience in coordinating designs and drawings with external consultants, including Architects and Engineers.
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
- Commitment to efficiency in completing tasks within designated schedules.
- Ability to mentor junior engineering staff.
- Proficient in executing work in alignment with agreed budgets and schedules with minimal supervision.
- Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Proficient in stormwater modeling programs such as Hydro CAD, Storm CAD, and SWWM (or similar).
- Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office, and Google Apps.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide consulting services for both internal and external clients utilizing Civil/Site Engineering expertise, including site grading analysis, drainage design, utility layout, and compliance with regulations.
- Lead a project team of junior and experienced engineers to achieve project design deliverables.
- Oversee the development of design calculations and drawings from preliminary to final stages.
- Conduct site due diligence and entitlement investigations.
- Review field data and perform inspections of existing stormwater facilities.
- Engage in technical writing for design reports and permitting applications.
- Utilize AutoCAD and various Civil Engineering design software applications effectively.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience in Site Grading, Earthwork Calculations, Road Design, Drainage, Utility Layout, Technical Report Writing, and cost estimating.
- Experience with Construction Documentation for various project types.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is mandatory.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance from the U.S. Government is required.
