Ground Engineering Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intricate engineering evaluations, prepare detailed reports, and perform field investigations along with laboratory assessments.
  • Assess subsurface conditions and their implications on design and construction processes.
  • Execute designs for shallow and deep foundations, along with slope stability evaluations.
  • Carry out deep foundation assessments for various pile types.
  • Geotechnical design responsibilities include:
  • Development of shoring and bracing systems such as soldier pile lag walls, sheet pile walls, cellular coffer dams, and secant pile walls.
  • Design of tieback anchors and rock anchors.
  • Creation of retaining wall structures including segmental retaining walls, cantilevered retaining walls, gabion walls, and reinforced earth walls.
  • Perform seismic evaluations including site class determination, liquefaction assessments, site-specific spectral response analysis, and liquefaction-induced settlement evaluations.
  • Conduct group pile assessments, soil-pile interaction studies, and analyses of lateral load and deflection behavior.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is crucial for independent practice and design approvals.
  • Demonstrated experience in geotechnical engineering, particularly with vertical construction projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
