Komar/Maren Engineering is a premier manufacturer of recycling balers based in South Holland, Illinois. Since 1962, Maren Balers and Shredders have been at the forefront of producing top-tier balers and shredders. Our equipment is designed to manage substantial material volumes with minimal labor, yielding high-quality recycled products.
We are looking for driven individuals with robust mechanical expertise and a willingness to learn about electrical and hydraulic systems. You will be tasked with interpreting prints, drawings, and instructions to execute builds. Previous experience in hydraulic, electrical, and MIG/stick welding is advantageous. A strong work ethic and eagerness to master the field are essential. This role is not repetitive; each machine requires innovative thinking and meticulous attention to detail. We design and manufacture our machinery from the ground up, providing an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge within a growing organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute tasks using electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.
- Conduct electrical assembly and troubleshooting.
- Work with hydraulic systems and perform troubleshooting.
- Assemble electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic machinery.
- Fabricate large horizontal baler equipment and related machinery.
- Utilize various handheld and precision measuring tools.
- Position parts and sub-assemblies using templates or measurements.
- MIG welding of different metal thicknesses is a plus.
- Forklift and overhead crane operation experience is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience in electrical assembly and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Experience in assembling electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic machinery.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and adaptability to changing situations.
- MIG welding experience is a plus.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; or relevant experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Basic math skills and/or tape measure reading may be required.
- Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
- Ability to address problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
