Role Summary:

The Vice President, Resident and External Engagement plays a pivotal role in steering Atlanta Housing's interactions with residents and key external stakeholders. This position is dedicated to improving the resident experience, fostering economic independence, and collaborating with various internal and external partners committed to the mission of Atlanta Housing.

This leadership role not only involves strategic oversight but also requires hands-on execution of initiatives that enhance resident engagement and maintain vital external relationships with participants, governmental entities, foundations, social service organizations, community partners, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation

  • Design and actively engage in initiatives that empower youth, adults, and seniors within the resident community to achieve economic and lifestyle independence while promoting the well-being of senior residents.
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive human development programs that support residents across all age groups.
  • Address and resolve resident concerns, ensuring compliance with relevant housing regulations while fostering positive community relations.
  • Encourage community involvement by creating volunteer opportunities that connect staff with the diverse resident population.
  • Initiate programs aimed at providing youth with the necessary education, training, and support for their academic and career success.
  • Advocate for healthy aging, enabling residents to thrive within their communities.
  • Assist individuals transitioning from public assistance to economic self-sufficiency.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with nonprofit organizations to enhance program delivery and improve resident outcomes.
  • Support marketing and event planning for Atlanta Housing-sponsored activities.

Professional Experience:

  • Over 10 years of relevant leadership experience in Human Development, Resident Services, or similar fields.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing and evaluating a diverse team.
  • In-depth understanding of strategies that promote economic and lifestyle advancement for residents of all ages.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations and affordable housing programs.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Atlanta Housing.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with residents, employees, and business partners at all levels.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent judgment, diplomacy, and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, complemented by interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in managing various projects and refining business processes.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficient in current office technologies and software applications.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or higher from an accredited institution.

Compensation:

  • Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, with an anticipated salary range of $133,100 - $169,100.
