Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of goods and materials within our distribution network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including stores, DC operations, and carriers.
  • Utilize effective decision-making skills to assign freight to dedicated carriers and fleet drivers, maximizing utilization and reducing transportation expenses.
  • Drive the performance of outbound carriers to ensure timely service and compliance with dedicated drivers.
  • Train dedicated carrier personnel and fleet drivers on seal integrity, trip sheet process, recycling cardboard, tote and repack return process, and trailer inspection process.
  • Maintain Kronos time system, including auditing and correcting punches, and producing reports.
  • Enter all drivers' trip expenses into Concur and Tripsheet database.
  • Cross-train individual duties with peers to ensure all daily accountabilities are met.
  • Coordinate the timely pickup and delivery of all inbound tenders, ensuring product is received in a timely manner.
  • Manage import container pools to ensure efficient unloading and eliminate unnecessary expenses.
  • Provide accurate data entry in all required management systems and data warehouses.
  • Support claims process to ensure carrier/fleet procedures are being followed and departmental credits are received.
  • Identify operational trends, analyze root causes, and implement processes for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Follow set safety procedures and guidelines to maximize personal safety.
  • Maintain an organized work area and promote a safe working environment within the Transportation department.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Three to five years of customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with DOT regulations and driver hours of service a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word, capable of creating and manipulating spreadsheets, and typing 25+ words per minute.
  • Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Physical requirements include frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping, and kneeling.
Working Conditions

Team Member will work in a climate-controlled office atmosphere; however, there may be frequent exposure to the Distribution Center (non-climate-controlled). Team Member may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts or equipment, fumes, and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.

Availability

Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
