Position: Wind Energy Operations Technician

Functional Area: Operations & Maintenance

Job Overview:
As a Wind Energy Operations Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of wind energy facilities. Your primary focus will be on maintaining safety standards and optimizing the availability of wind farms in alignment with our operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute maintenance and repair tasks safely and efficiently, adhering to established protocols.
  • Support the performance testing of systems and equipment following maintenance activities.
  • Participate in safety drills and assist with various wind farm operations as required.
  • Contribute to turbine maintenance, including servicing and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with Balance of Plant maintenance tasks, including substation and collection system upkeep.
  • Uphold the company's core values and work ethic.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in operations or maintenance within power generation, with at least 1 year in wind turbine operations preferred.
  • Relevant technical degrees can substitute for experience based on specific criteria.
  • Certifications such as a Journeyman License or Wind Technician Certification may also substitute for experience.
  • Experience with wind turbine brands like Vestas, GE, or Acciona is advantageous.
  • Military experience in technical fields is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to relocate within commuting distance.
  • Physical capability to meet weight and climbing requirements associated with wind turbine operations.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, with a solid understanding of safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment:
The role involves working in various environments, including energized wind turbine generators and associated facilities, both indoors and outdoors.
