Role Overview:

As a Wind Farm Technician Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the comprehensive operations and maintenance of multiple wind energy facilities. Your primary objective will be to ensure safety and optimize availability in alignment with our operational mission.

This position entails:

  • Executing scheduled maintenance and conducting troubleshooting and repair tasks.
  • Participating in training sessions and safety drills.
  • Maintaining accountability for plant tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Providing technical support to the Operations & Maintenance team.
  • Tracking and documenting service activities through our digital maintenance management system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operational and maintenance tasks are conducted safely, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in performing acceptance and performance evaluations on systems and equipment following maintenance or outages.
  • Carry out safety and other wind farm-related assignments as needed.
  • Support Balance of Plant operations, including maintenance of substations and collection systems.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in operations and/or maintenance within power generation, transmission, or distribution, with a preference for wind turbine experience.
  • Possession of a current Journeyman License, Master Electrician License, or Wind Technician Certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with wind turbine manufacturers such as Vestas, GE, Acciona, or Nordex is preferred.
  • Military experience in a technical field (electrical, electronics, or mechanical) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to relocate within a 1-hour drive of the work site.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces and navigate small areas within wind turbines.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable with extensive walking, climbing, and standing throughout the workday.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams for meetings.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic circuit diagrams.
  • Familiarity with energy isolation points and LOTO procedures for safety.
  • Intermediate knowledge of electromechanical relays, hydraulic accumulators, and electrical motors.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

This role will involve working in various environments, including office settings, turbine interiors, and outdoor locations.
