Role Overview:

As a Wind Farm Technician Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational efficiency and maintenance of multiple wind energy facilities. Your primary focus will be on ensuring safety and optimizing availability in alignment with our operational objectives.

This position involves the safe execution of scheduled maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repair activities, along with training and safety drills. You will be responsible for maintaining accountability for plant tools, equipment, and vehicles, providing technical support to the Operations & Maintenance team, and keeping accurate records of both scheduled and unscheduled service activities through our digital maintenance management system.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all operational and maintenance tasks are performed safely and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting acceptance and performance evaluations on systems and equipment post-maintenance or outages.
  • Perform safety-related tasks and provide backup support to personnel at other sites as needed.
  • Support Balance of Plant operations, including maintenance of substations and collection systems.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for an associate degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution. A minimum of 2 years of experience in operations and/or maintenance within power generation, transmission, or distribution is necessary, with at least 1 year of wind turbine experience preferred.

Certifications such as a current Journeyman License, Master Electrician License, or Wind Technician Certification are highly desirable. Experience with wind turbines from manufacturers like Vestas, GE, Acciona, or Nordex is advantageous. Military experience in a technical field (electrical, electronics, or mechanical) is also preferred.

Candidates must be willing to relocate within a reasonable distance from the site and should possess the physical capability to work in confined spaces and at heights, as well as the ability to lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.


Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and capable of using Teams for communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic circuit diagrams.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, including energy isolation and LOTO practices.
  • Strong initiative and decision-making skills, capable of working with minimal supervision.

Work Environment:

This role involves working in various settings, including office environments, wind turbines, and outdoor locations. The work will take place in and around energized wind turbine generators and associated equipment.
