Role Overview:

As a Wind Farm Technician Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational efficiency and maintenance of multiple wind energy facilities. Your primary focus will be on ensuring safety and optimizing availability in alignment with our operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute scheduled maintenance and conduct troubleshooting and repair tasks.
  • Provide training and participate in safety drills.
  • Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, and vehicles essential for plant operations.
  • Offer technical support to the Operations & Maintenance team.
  • Document and track service activities using a digital maintenance management system.
  • Uphold a strong work ethic and foster a positive culture within the O&M team.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in performance testing of systems and equipment post-maintenance or outages.
  • Support Balance of Plant operations, including maintenance of substations and collection systems.
Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory, while an associate degree in a relevant field is preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in operations and/or maintenance within the power generation sector, with at least 1 year in wind turbine operations being advantageous.

Certifications such as a Current Journeyman License, Current Master Electrician License, or Wind Technician Certification are required. Experience with wind turbines from manufacturers like Vestas, GE, Acciona, or Nordex is preferred. Military experience in a technical discipline (electrical, electronics, or mechanical) is also valued.

Applicants must be willing to relocate within a reasonable distance from the work site and should be physically capable of performing tasks that include working in confined spaces and lifting equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Skills Required:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and energy isolation procedures.
  • Strong initiative and decision-making capabilities with minimal supervision.
Work Environment:

This position involves working in various settings, including office spaces, wind turbines, and outdoor environments. The role requires a commitment to safety and environmental standards.
