We are currently in search of a Regulatory Compliance Specialist, tasked with overseeing and ensuring the timely execution of all regulatory submissions mandated by US and Canadian standards for wind and solar energy facilities. This role encompasses the interpretation, completion, and monitoring of routine compliance filings, as well as managing non-standard submissions.

Please note: this position requires full onsite presence with reasonable flexibility in our office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance and maintain records while serving as the primary liaison for all wind and solar assets within the Exus portfolio, engaging with regional and regulatory bodies such as FERC, NERC, and various Canadian regulatory entities.
  • Collect, analyze, and submit all necessary filings to regulatory bodies, reliability organizations, and governmental agencies, including RFIs, NERC Self-Reports, EIA 923 and 860, and FERC EQR.
  • Collaborate with third-party engineering firms to facilitate the completion of self-reports, audits, and data requests related to Exus projects.
  • Oversee compliance activities under NERC, ensuring proactive measures are implemented to maintain project compliance.
  • Work alongside asset managers to gather and provide essential documentation for compliance submissions.
  • Organize and maintain all compliance records on the company’s SharePoint platform.
  • Represent Exus at conferences, workshops, and meetings focused on compliance issues.
  • Coordinate internally to obtain, review, and submit any Standards of Practice and work orders from third parties related to compliance matters.
  • Act as the intermediary between regional entities, Exus, and any third-party organizations assisting with filing completion.
  • Utilize the compliance matrix to monitor all NERC compliance requirements for the portfolio.
  • Lead the compliance registration for new projects and collaborate across departments to gather necessary information.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may lead to non-compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Review contracts to ensure all compliance requirements are fulfilled.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant analytical field such as engineering, computer science, legal studies, compliance, or project management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance within Electric Utility Compliance entities.
  • In-depth knowledge of FERC and NERC protocols.
  • Familiarity with the energy sector is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office 365, Adobe, SharePoint, and other relevant applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills, with the ability to work independently and across various teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage compliance filings.
