Overall Purpose:

The Environmental Safety and Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring regulatory adherence and technical support across various operational sectors. This position is pivotal in facilitating industrial hygiene and environmental health initiatives through active involvement in assessments, audits, and compliance reporting. The specialist is tasked with the upkeep and management of designated company programs while overseeing both internal and external resources dedicated to Environmental Health and Safety.

Location: Hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute field activities related to industrial hygiene, focusing on worker exposure assessments, including air quality monitoring, noise level evaluations, and other relevant investigations.
  • Generate comprehensive reports that assess risks, prioritize them, and assist in the formulation and implementation of corrective and preventive action strategies.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on EHS policies and procedures, ensuring the creation of effective training materials.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents to identify root causes, formulate corrective actions, and document findings in detailed reports.
  • Maintain an incident tracking database, generate analytical reports, and respond to inquiries regarding organizational performance metrics.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety culture within the organization by participating in various activities and cross-functional teams.
  • Assist EHS management in ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, staying informed about new and proposed federal and state legislation, and revising company procedures as necessary.
  • Conduct field audits to verify adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and contribute to EHS project initiatives as assigned.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response situations.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, health, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Certifications such as CSP or CIH are preferred.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills.
  • Familiarity with hazard assessment techniques and industrial hygiene monitoring methods.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop effective project management strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
