Position Overview

The Public Utilities Commission is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst II. This position plays a crucial role in the Policy Section of the Communications and Water Policy Branch, contributing to various initiatives related to the communications sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in comprehensive research and analysis to support policy development aimed at safeguarding consumer interests, particularly for low-income and marginalized communities.
  • Conduct detailed evaluations of utility applications and Commission decisions, providing evidence-based recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, including senior management and decision-makers.
  • Participate in hearings and represent the Commission in diverse forums.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop methodologies for effective problem-solving.
  • Utilize quantitative tools and spreadsheets for data modeling and analysis.
  • Draft high-quality reports, comments, and testimonies related to regulatory proceedings.
  • Attend inter-agency meetings and workshops to discuss utility service issues and regulatory developments.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for management and Commissioners.

Work Environment

This position may require travel and is open to candidates willing to work in various locations. Telework options may be available based on eligibility criteria.
