Position Overview
The Public Utilities Commission is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Senior Regulatory Analyst. This position requires individuals who meet eligibility criteria and are prepared to engage in a comprehensive examination process.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Project and Program Supervisor, the analyst will support high-level decision-makers, including Commissioners and Energy Division management. Responsibilities include:
- Leading teams and coordinating projects related to the integration of electric generation and storage into the distribution grid.
- Evaluating various policy proposals related to Tariff Rules, ensuring alignment with safety, reliability, and state climate objectives.
- Conducting independent analyses of regulatory, policy, and technical matters to inform recommendations.
- Preparing analyses and recommendations for the Commission's rulemakings through diverse work products.
- Reviewing and providing feedback on proposed legislative measures and overseeing program implementations resulting from regulatory processes.
- Collaborating with technical standards for smart inverters and other Distributed Energy Resources (DERs).
- Engaging with external organizations and agencies to facilitate communication and information exchange.
Qualifications
Applicants must clearly outline their experience related to public utilities, economics, finance, or policy in their application. The analysis of qualifications will be based on the information provided in the application form.
Work Environment
The Public Utilities Commission promotes a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility in work location while ensuring occasional in-person attendance for specific activities. All employees are required to reside in California.
