Job Overview:


The Senior Financial Accountant plays a pivotal role in overseeing the month-end closing processes and the preparation of financial statements for various entities, particularly within the Non-Profit sector, characterized by intricate financial structures.

This position is situated within a dynamic centralized accounting services framework, delivering essential financial solutions to community associations across North America.

Candidates must fulfill Associa's credit prerequisites.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive accrual accounting.
Manage month-end closing and financial statement preparation for multiple complex entities (Non-Profit Corporations).
Execute departmental accounting tasks.

Oversee and validate monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations, encompassing extensive investments, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, deferrals, accruals, payroll liabilities, and reserves.

Formulate amortization and depreciation schedules.
Develop and maintain supporting documentation and reports as required.
Assist in budget development and management.
Facilitate Year-End closing processes.

Provide support to Community Association Managers (CAM), Branch Financial Accounting Support Personnel (FASP), and Association Boards of Directors (BOD) as needed.

Collaborate with related departments (Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), Data Management, Delinquency, Tax, and Banking Teams) to resolve issues.

Occasional weekend work may be necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Internal company balancing expertise.
Ability to interpret and apply relevant industry regulations.
Proficient in managing multiple entities while adhering to tight deadlines with precision and meticulous attention to detail.
Experienced in departmental accounting functions.
Proficient in budget development and execution.
Skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Familiarity with Complete Control for Communities (C3) software is preferred but not mandatory.
Understanding of or experience in the Community Association Management sector is advantageous but not essential.
Experience in an Accounting Shared Services Center environment is preferred but not required.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and guidelines from the Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
