Position Summary

We are in search of a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Financial Operations. This pivotal role is essential for defining our financial strategy and guiding the Finance & Accounting team. Your primary responsibilities will encompass financial oversight, strategic planning, and enhancing business analytics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and execute financial strategies that align with Goliath's business goals. Provide insightful recommendations to the North American executive team and headquarters, emphasizing financial control, planning, and analytics.
  • Lead, mentor, and cultivate the finance and accounting team, focusing on ongoing improvement and professional growth to optimize financial operations.
  • Oversee pricing strategies and analyze product profitability as part of managing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor financial performance against budgets, analyze discrepancies, and proactively identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reports. Provide valuable insights into financial performance and trends to both headquarters and local management.
  • Establish and uphold robust internal controls to protect assets and ensure the financial integrity and transparency of operations.
  • Manage cash flow and financing, ensuring the company maintains optimal liquidity.
  • Coordinate and supervise accounting functions, annual audits, tax filings, and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial planning & analysis, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, demonstrating the ability to manage financial operations in a retail distribution environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, fostering a collaborative team environment that promotes growth and efficiency.
  • Proven track record of managing tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
  • In-depth understanding of the complexities associated with consumer-based retail distribution.
  • Expertise in Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI, essential for effective data analysis and presentation.
