Job Title: Staff Counsel III

AmTrust Financial Services, a leading commercial insurance company, is seeking an experienced Attorney to join our New York Staff Counsel team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general liability litigation and the ability to deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Independently handle a high volume of general liability cases from inception to trial.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct legal research, and develop defense strategies on behalf of clients and carriers.
  • Prepare pleadings, judicial counsel forms, written discovery, motions, and briefs in support of legal defense strategies.
  • Provide effective and timely communications, information, legal advice, and other services to clients and claims professionals on legal and factual issues.
  • Work closely with AmTrust's claims professionals to ensure prompt, efficient, and effective disposition of assigned cases.
Qualifications:
  • JD from an ABA-approved school and license to practice in New York.
  • 5+ years of general liability defense litigation experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of civil procedure, rules of evidence, and verbal and writing skills.
  • Extensive deposition and alternative dispute resolution experience is a must, with trial experience preferred.
