The ideal candidate will possess a profound interest in laws and regulations pertaining to accessibility and disability accommodations, including but not limited to Titles I, II, and III of the ADA, the Rehabilitation Act, and relevant state and local statutes. A solid understanding of public accommodation accessibility challenges, both in physical locations and digital platforms, is essential.
Experience in litigation, regulatory investigations by the DOJ, interactions with advocacy organizations, and compliance counseling is highly valued. Familiarity with accessibility audits and the management of external auditors for both physical structures and digital applications is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of general employment litigation, including federal and state employment laws.
- Engage in various litigation tasks such as witness interviews, reviewing electronic documents, drafting legal pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Conduct and defend depositions, maintain communication with clients and opposing counsel, and represent the firm in court appearances.
Qualifications
- Must be admitted to practice law in New York, covering both state and federal courts.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
