Job Summary:

The Director of Front Office at Talbott Hotel Chicago is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk, ensuring exceptional guest service, and driving financial profitability. This leadership role requires a strong understanding of hotel operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and direct a team of associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Services: Direct and administer all guest services operations, including guest registration, room inventory, and guest service standards.
  • Associate Performance: Monitor and develop associate performance, providing supervision, professional development, and recognition.
  • Service and Satisfaction: Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues, and make improvements accordingly.
  • Marketing and Revenue: Initiate and implement marketing and up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities, and maximize room occupancy and overall revenue.
  • Corporate Marketing: Implement and monitor all corporate marketing programs.
  • Knowledge and Training: Ensure associates have current knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing, and policies, as well as knowledge of the local area and events.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Run and complete daily reports, analyze data, and make decisions based on data.
  • Guest Issues: Resolve guest issues and concerns to guest satisfaction.
  • Recruitment and Training: Recruit, interview, and train associates.
  • Emergency Response: Be certified to respond to emergencies, including the operation of the Fire Panel and communication with emergency personnel.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Hospitality Management, with at least 5 years of progressive Front Office management experience in a 500+ room hotel with meeting space.
  • Specific brand experience and/or OnQ (PMS property management) Certification.
