Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the cleanliness standards of our guestrooms, meeting areas, public areas, and back-of-the-house are met.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and Organize Staff Workload: Ensure compliance with cleanliness and maintenance standards by continuously inspecting guestrooms and public space areas.
- Develop Budgets: Create and manage housekeeping and laundry budgets to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Implement Expense Controls: Develop and implement controls for expense management to minimize waste and optimize resources.
- Conduct Inventory: Conduct periodic inventory of guest supplies, small equipment, and linen to ensure accurate tracking and ordering.
- Labor Management: Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs, ensuring optimal staffing levels.
- Schedule Labor: Schedule labor to flex with forecasted hotel occupancy, F&B activity, and group events.
- Staff Management: Interview, hire, train, develop, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate.
- Customer Interaction: Interact positively with customers and take action to resolve problems to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
- Facilities Management: Evaluate the condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc. and make recommendations for preventative maintenance and rehab projects.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with housekeeping and laundry standard operating procedures and policies, as well as OSHA requirements and guidelines.
- Availability: Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Management Experience: 5+ years of management experience, with at least 3 years in housekeeping management.
- Laundry Operations: Experience managing in-house operated laundry operations.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of all housekeeping and laundry operations and individual job requirements.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
