About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Coordinator to provide exceptional support to our patients and audiologists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly and ensure a welcoming environment, handling inquiries and providing information on services.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Manage the scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of audiologists' time while accommodating patients' needs.
  • Patient Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Insurance Coordination: Verify patient insurance coverage, obtain necessary authorizations, and assist patients with billing inquiries.
  • Pre-Visit Preparation: Ensure that all necessary documentation and patient information is collected and organized prior to appointments.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with information on hearing aids, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed by the audiologist.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure seamless communication.
  • Office Administration: Assist with general office tasks, such as answering phones, managing emails, and ordering supplies.
  • Follow-Up Care: Coordinate and schedule follow-up appointments, and ensure patients receive timely reminders.
  • Patient Satisfaction: Continuously monitor patient satisfaction and work to improve the patient experience.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in audiology or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software, knowledge of medical insurance processes and terminology, and a compassionate, patient-focused, and empathetic demeanor.
