Position Overview:
The Clinical Nutrition Specialist 2 exhibits expertise in conducting comprehensive nutritional evaluations for both inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborates effectively with the healthcare team to execute nutritional strategies and oversees the dietary management of patients. Provides tailored nutrition education to patients and their families. Engages in teamwork with dietitians, dietetic technicians, and dietary aides to enhance performance metrics. Delivers training sessions and presentations to clinical staff, mentors clinical dietitians and other healthcare professionals to elevate performance standards, participates in the education of dietetic and medical students, and acts as a consultant for medical practitioners. Responsibilities may encompass inpatient, outpatient, and/or clinic environments; involvement in outpatient group nutrition classes as assigned; and fulfilling appointments upon receipt of referrals. Undertakes additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field is mandatory. A minimum of two years of clinical nutrition experience is essential, with one year preferred in Pediatrics.

Skills and Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of clinical nutrition within the specialty area. Proficient in handling, dexterity, and communication skills necessary for the role. Capable of operating various office equipment including calculators, computers, and telephones. Must demonstrate effective communication with colleagues, work collaboratively, and accept guidance, maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure. Ability to consistently uphold Medical Center policies. Proficiency in English is required, with Spanish language skills being advantageous. Competent in managing multiple tasks simultaneously, making informed decisions, and demonstrating problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are crucial. Must possess the ability to hear and engage in conversations both in person and over the phone, speak clearly, and document information accurately. Visual acuity necessary for the role is also required.

Licensure and Certification:
Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN) is required. CCS Paneling must be obtained within one year of the hire date.
