Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is seeking a highly skilled and relationship-focused Major Gifts Officer to join our development team on the West Coast. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors, soliciting and stewarding gifts of $10,000+, and expanding Brady's presence on the West Coast.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of 50-100 major donors, developing and implementing strategies to increase giving potential
- Develop a robust pipeline of prospects, utilizing prospect research, existing database lists, and new leads
- Collaborate with the major gifts team, Regional Leadership Councils, and other stakeholders to engage major donors in gun violence prevention advocacy and deepen relationships
- Meet annual fundraising goals and metrics for success in the region, including face-to-face solicitations
- Prepare donor briefings and correspondence, working closely with the support team on donor proposals and reports
- Travel up to 50% within the West Coast, with occasional travel to DC for broader organizational meetings and events
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising or a closely related area, involving the solicitation of major gifts
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create and cultivate relationships, with a proven track record of success soliciting 6-7 figure gifts
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to share the vision, mission, and programs of Brady
- Strong team player with attention to detail and follow-through on all tasks, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Experience in ROI Solutions or similar CRM that maintains donor records
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and G Suite
- Ability to use discretion and sensitivity in handling highly confidential donor information and proprietary data
- Event planning and management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change
