Chief Development Officer

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Development Officer to lead our fundraising efforts and drive growth. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic fundraising plans, managing a portfolio of major gift prospects, and building strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to achieve annual and long-term goals.
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, identifying and cultivating new opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, branch leaders, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement organizational strategies that align with the YMCA's mission and vision.
  • Oversee and manage the department's operating budget and resources to ensure effective use of funds.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in fundraising, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Proven track record of success in securing major gifts and leading fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a knack for solving complex problems and developing innovative solutions.
