Job Summary

The Associate Director of Development, Southeast and Latin America will be responsible for engaging current and cultivating prospective donors in the case for support of Georgetown University and in the pursuit of Georgetown's campaign Called to Be.

Key Responsibilities
  • Qualify, cultivate, and actively manage a portfolio of approximately 100-150 major gift and planned giving prospects.
  • Travel at least five days per month to meaningfully engage and cultivate a community of support.
  • Work closely with Development colleagues and partners across campus on specific event planning and execution, principal visits and deployments, and seamless management of prospects that might reside elsewhere for part of the year.
  • Act as a collaborative thought partner willing to approach their work with a team-first mentality.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in major gifts fundraising, ideally in higher education institutions, with demonstrable success securing five and low six-figure major gifts.
  • A desire to contribute to and participate in the mission of Georgetown University and the Office of Advancement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal interaction skills including the ability to exchange and interpret information requiring understanding to influence others.
  • Strong negotiating and marketing skills with the ability to give significant attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of constituents, including donors, board members and volunteers as well as alumni, parents, friends, faculty, administrators and internal colleagues.
  • Strong computer skills required including all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and Salesforce.com GU360 constituent relationship management system.
  • A demonstrated track record of success in meeting gift goals with the ability to effectively collaborate with others.
  • Experience fundraising for higher education institutions and with planned giving along with an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset preferred.
Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
