Job Summary:

Orange Tree Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing education-based services to students in Providence, RI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations.
  • Provide case management services for students on individual education plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and associated documentation, attending IEP meetings and presenting materials and lesson plans.
  • Determine instructional materials and provide instruction to students based on individualized plan goals, approved curriculum, and applicable standards.
  • Maintain accurate and complete data records as required by the district.
  • Collaborate with staff to implement behavior management support and behavior intervention plans for students receiving special education services.
  • Work with staff to implement accommodations and modifications within the school setting to ensure student success.
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development courses as required.
  • Provide a safe learning environment with an effective classroom management plan.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members, and vendors.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a teacher.
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines, with a willingness to follow school policies and procedures.
