Radiological Controls Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Controls Technician to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a Radiological Controls Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our nation's naval nuclear reactors.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiological surveys of work, work areas, and facilities to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and work standards.
- Respond to radiological casualties and provide oversight of radiological work to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Provide oversight for evolutions such as movement of nuclear fuel and assembly/disassembly of nuclear fuel test trains.
- Perform radiological surveys to support the shipment/receipt of nuclear fuel and/or waste.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of college training, OR vocational school (Radiological Technician programs), OR a Naval Nuclear Operator.
- Ability to qualify as an Article 108 Radiological Controls Technician.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance.
- Ability to work shift work if required.
- Previous Article 108 qualification.
- Experience as a Lead Engineering Laboratory Technician, or experience as a shipyard radiological controls technician.

$30.61 hourly. Jobs categorized as subject to a collective bargaining agreement will adhere to the pay rates, wage increases, progression schedules, and other parameters identified and negotiated in said agreements.
