Position Summary

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a dedicated Radiologic Imaging Specialist to enhance our healthcare team.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is tasked with the efficient management of daily operations within the imaging department. This role involves executing radiographic examinations utilizing various imaging technologies. The specialist will assist Radiologists and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping. Effective communication and a positive work atmosphere are essential.

Eligibility for benefits varies based on employment status (full-time, part-time, or PRN).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Conducts patient interviews prior to imaging procedures, assessing their physical condition, age, and medical history to tailor radiographic techniques accordingly.
  2. Operates and adjusts sophisticated imaging equipment to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, including portable units.
  3. Evaluates the technical quality of images before submission to the Radiologist, performing necessary adjustments.
  4. Ensures patient and staff safety in compliance with national and state regulations.
  5. Engages in additional tasks such as maintaining inventory, preparing equipment, assisting colleagues, and providing patient information.
  6. Documents essential patient details for accurate exam interpretation and care.
  7. Supports the Radiologist in administering contrast agents as needed.
  8. Responds to inquiries from patients and healthcare staff regarding imaging procedures and safety practices.
  9. Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities as directed by department leadership.
  10. Exhibits professionalism in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
  11. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to patient rights and privacy standards.
  12. Contributes to a safe and functional environment for patients and staff.
  13. Completes all mandatory training and attends departmental meetings as required.
  14. Arrives punctually and is prepared to work at the designated start time.
  15. Accepts additional assignments or cross-training opportunities as necessary.
  16. Maintains a positive attitude towards change and accountability for actions.
  17. Fosters effective teamwork and collaboration within the department.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Must possess or be eligible for RT(R) licensure with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
