Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to join our team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Scheduling: Coordinate patient appointments, verify insurance information, and manage patient records with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Registration and Insurance Verification: Accurately register patients, verify insurance coverage, and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
  • Ordering and Coordination of Services: Coordinate and communicate with patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate ordering and coordination of medical services.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of clerical, customer service, or administrative support experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment; proficiency in basic computer applications and medical software; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Preferred Qualifications: One year of registration experience, point of service collection, insurance validation, and understanding of compliance and regulatory guidelines; prior experience in a hospital or medical office setting; Epic or equivalent Electronic Medical Record experience.
