Position Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and execute maintenance strategies for Anchor Ingredients facilities, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of all equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance of Plant and Equipment:

  • Conduct repairs on conveyors, legs, PD blowers, milling machinery, and industrial vehicles.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery to identify malfunctions.
  • Estimate costs for repairs.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive maintenance program.
  • Document types and costs of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and determine corrective actions, utilizing repair manuals, parts catalogs, and blueprints as necessary.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operation of machinery and maintain the physical integrity of buildings.

Collaboration with Plant Operations:

  • Support margin improvement and cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for material reduction and optimization.
  • Collaborate with team members to emphasize the significance of reliability and preventive maintenance.
  • Address production interruptions promptly.

Safety Compliance:

  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager, Plant Maintenance Engineer, and General Manager to ensure adherence to the Company’s Safety Program.
  • Proactively identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Assist in evaluating incidents to eliminate root causes.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with General Managers, Director of Plant Operations, and Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that products meet established quality standards and promptly address any deviations.

General Duties:

Engage in project work or other tasks as assigned by the Plant Maintenance Engineer and General Managers. All employees are expected to comply with the Company’s policies on safety, hygiene, and housekeeping.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of mechanical or maintenance experience, or an Associate degree in a related field.
  • General understanding of food quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through transitions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes.
  • Welding skills are a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles, and hazardous materials, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Employees may also face adverse weather conditions, extended hours during peak seasons, and work in high or confined spaces. Noise levels may require hearing protection.

Employees are regularly required to stand for extended periods, use hands or fingers for handling, and communicate effectively. They may also need to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities must include close-up work, and employees should be prepared for seasonal demands and deadlines.
