Job Overview

Position Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing a range of shipping and receiving operations. This role ensures that all materials received are accurate and directs incoming items to the correct departments or locations. The coordinator also prepares items for dispatch, ensuring the use of cost-effective courier services, while performing various facility-related tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizes, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory that is shipped or received, while performing necessary transactional entries in the current systems.
  • Receives and unloads incoming shipments, verifying the contents against purchase orders and packing lists for accuracy, and addresses any discrepancies with the purchasing team.
  • Prepares items for shipping via postal or commercial methods, determining the most economical and efficient shipping options, selecting suitable containers, and ensuring items are packed securely for safe transit.
  • Coordinates and schedules shipments through customer web portals, ensuring timely and accurate processing based on required shipping dates.
  • Inspects incoming shipments for any damages or defects, documenting discrepancies and notifying supervisors or purchasing personnel as necessary.
  • Delivers items to requesting departments, obtaining necessary signatures for received goods.
  • Maintains the department's database, prepares routine reports, and organizes shipping and receiving records.
  • Operates equipment such as dollies and pallet jacks for loading and unloading supplies; may also operate shrink-wrap machinery and assist with routine maintenance of equipment and shipping areas.
  • Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, while promoting continuous quality improvement, safety, and environmental control standards.
  • Provides guidance and training to employees engaged in related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

Compensation: $22.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
