Job Overview

The IT Operations Manager is tasked with supervising and directing the daily functions of the IT division. This role combines elements of leadership, technical project oversight, and innovative systems/network administration. The individual in this position will guide a team in the effective and creative deployment of cloud solutions, servers, networks, computer workstations, mobile devices, backup systems, security protocols, and disaster recovery strategies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops a skilled and motivated technical support team while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Clearly articulates and aligns departmental objectives with the overarching business strategy.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to team members through regular one-on-one meetings and conducts annual performance evaluations.
  • Oversees staff workloads, prioritizes projects, and implements tracking systems for departmental initiatives.
  • Acts as the Technical Project Manager for IT projects, ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with preferred vendors.
  • Establishes and manages the annual IT budget, ensuring effective tracking of hardware, licensing, and vendor agreements.
  • Serves as the compliance officer for security-related inquiries, including audits and penetration tests.
  • Promotes adherence to information security policies that safeguard organizational assets and data.
  • Ensures that project documentation is securely stored and easily accessible.
  • Implements policies to guarantee comprehensive documentation for all IT systems and applications.
  • Regularly communicates project updates to management and team members through meetings and written reports.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with senior management regarding project statuses.
  • Ensures the IT team delivers exceptional customer service to all staff.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

System Administration Duties:
  • Manages a predominantly cloud-based enterprise infrastructure.
  • Collaborates with team members to maintain and enhance the interoperability of cloud applications and physical systems.
  • Ensures optimal uptime for technology infrastructure and identifies opportunities for workflow improvements.
  • Monitors system performance and develops strategies for enhancement.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in the IT sector.
  • Experience in people management and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical project management.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience with security audits.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based systems, including Microsoft 365 and related technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of physical servers, virtualization, and networking technologies.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside of standard business hours to meet project deadlines.
