The Operations Accounting Manager will oversee the general accounting functions and the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results. This role will formulate and administer approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations.
Key Responsibilities- Accurate Financial Reporting: Ensure the accurate reporting of revenue, including deferrals, and manage inventory obsolescence with operations.
- Revenue Recognition: Own the revenue recognition process to ensure compliance with accounting principles on deferred revenue, flux analyses, and related SOX controls.
- Accounting Policy Development: Lead the development and implementation of new accounting policies and memos and the maintenance of existing ones.
- Customer Contract Review: Review customer contracts for revenue recognition to ensure compliance with company policies and appropriate revenue recognition standards.
- Process Improvement: Seek out and implement process improvement initiatives that increase the efficiency and accuracy of revenue monthly close process.
- Financial Analysis: Provide detailed analysis and insight to operational functions to support growth initiatives in the business.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with Transactional Services for accelerated collections process and FP&A partners on forecasting.
- Financial Review: On a monthly basis, review financial results with a focus on revenue and materials & supplies trends, and make recommendations for corrective action to mitigate variances from the plan.
- Forecasting: Communicate any material change to the forecast/budget as soon as known.
- Technical Accounting: Align with product / marketing to evaluate impact of new product offerings for impacts to accounting (e.g., deferred accounting) with the Technical Accounting team.
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Work with M&A to migrate new acquisition to RTX tech stack.
- Team Management: Develop, manage, and coach staff members on the Operations Accounting team to foster career growth.
- Control Management: Manage assigned controls and ensure controls are in compliance with company policy with a focus on a risk-based approach.
- Efficiency and Automation: Identify & implement areas of efficiency, automation and acceleration for close process.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Review balance sheet reconciliations and prepare detailed fluctuation analysis for accounting leadership.
- Financial Security: Ensure security and integrity of Rentokil North America's financial information.
- Audit Support: Assist with Internal and External Audits.
- Experience: >6 years of experience in progressive financial leadership.
- Leadership Traits: Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with leaders and act as a partner on all financial related decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
