Role Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care as part of our dedicated care delivery team. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth operation of the medical practice by executing both administrative and clinical tasks aligned with established Practice Management Guidelines. You will collaborate closely with fellow Medical Assistants and Medical Receptionists, reporting directly to the Practice Operations Supervisor. Your role will thrive in a fast-paced, paperless environment, where you will be responsible for:

  • Administering patient care, including rooming patients, taking vital signs, administering injections, conducting urine analyses, performing EKGs, providing wound care, and executing ear lavages.
  • Managing phone communications, triaging patient inquiries, and delivering treatments as per provider directives.
  • Coordinating appointment scheduling, confirming patient visits, and processing co-pays and payments.
  • Facilitating patient check-out and providing after-visit instructions.
  • Assisting with prescription management, referrals, and authorization processes.
  • Reminding patients of overdue services, including missed appointments, immunizations, lab tests, and preventive care.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), preferably EPIC.

Work Environment

  • Operating hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
