Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Internal Logistics Group Leader to join our team at Toyota. As a key member of our Logistics Department, you will be responsible for supporting the Internal Logistics Department Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shift Management

Work a 12-hour night shift on a 2-2-3 Panama schedule, supervising a team in a shipping and receiving dock.

Logistics Coordination

Manage the flow of raw materials and components from the receiving dock to our internal processes and out to our final customers.

Time Entry and HR Management

Complete time entry and effectively manage all coding and HR issues daily.

Staffing and Scheduling

Understand staffing conditions and adjust accordingly.

Safety and Quality

Promote and exemplify a safety-first work culture and maintain a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions.

Process Improvement

Support and enable direct report activity to achieve strategic hoshin direction to ensure successful conveyance launch of all battery lines.

System Implementation

Support the strategic direction to implement, improve, and sustain the 3 Pillar and FMDS systems for battery production.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate closely with other groups to promote a strong kaizen culture and ensure customer expectations are exceeded.

Process Standardization

Kaizen functions for TBMNC internal conveyance current daily process to drive standardization and promote best practice.

Planning and Benchmarking

Support NAMC with Internal Logistics planning of the new model through IL standards and benchmarking tools to create best practice assumptions.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 2+ years of logistics or PC management experience.

Industry Experience

Experience in manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or warehousing industries, preferably with a logistics background.

Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics experience, strong leadership skills with experience leading teams, coaching problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement.

Additional Requirements

Experience in production manpower planning aligned with running production processes, comfort with shop floor operations, ability to assess situations, and deploy resources to solve problems and abnormalities.

Preferred Qualifications

Battery or Toyota manufacturing experience, 3 Pillar management/execution experience, hoshin creation and execution, demonstrated technical problem-solving ability (PDCA, RC/CM, TBP).
