Position: Financial Operations Manager

Compensation: $60-65k annually

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM

Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent (3 months)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate recording and posting of all cash transactions, maintaining a limit of two weeks for unidentified cash postings.
  • Eliminate miscellaneous accounts and reclassify existing balances to appropriate categories, while overseeing the future non-use of these accounts.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations promptly, ensuring zero discrepancies, and submit for review by the CFO and Controller within ten business days of receiving bank statements.
  • Monitor outstanding checks, ensuring none exceed ten months in age.
  • Address and resolve checks older than one year by reporting them to the appropriate unclaimed funds authority.
  • Daily verification of the accuracy of book balances in accounting software.
  • Collaborate with the CFO to enhance cash flow reporting, projecting cash needs for a two-week horizon.
  • Propose improvements to financial processes for consideration by the Controller and CFO.
  • Assist in monthly financial closing activities, including journal entry preparation.
  • Support the compilation of financial reports for the Board of Directors and Executive Director.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for funding entities.
  • Manage deposit preparation and corresponding entries in accounting software.
  • Reconcile inter-affiliate accounts monthly to ensure zero discrepancies.
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing for two organizations.
  • Update payroll and accounting records as necessary.
  • Generate various payroll deduction reports and ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare quarterly worksite and disability reports.
  • Compile monthly reports for program managers and directors.
  • Create detailed instructions for current tasks and assist in cross-training finance staff.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Address other financial matters as needed to uphold the fiscal integrity of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred, along with 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • An Associate's degree in accounting with equivalent experience will also be considered.
