About the Job: The Virtual Employee seeks an experienced Senior Financial Operations Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and have a proven track record of success in managing ALM functions, including IRR reporting and cash account management.

Job Summary: As a Senior Financial Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Credit Union's ALM functions, including IRR reporting, economic trends, and cash account management. You will also be responsible for performing month-end processes, such as journal entries and account reconciliations, and maintaining policies for Board reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. ALM Management: Prepare, manage, and review ALM documentation, including IRR reporting, economic trends, and changes in the economic/investment fields.
  2. Cash Account Management: Monitor cash accounts, prepare daily entries as needed, and investigate variances to ensure accurate and timely cash management.
  3. Month-End Processes: Perform tasks to assist with period-end closing, including accruals, and develop internal partnerships to ensure accurate and timely recording of entries.
  4. GL Reconciliations: Prepare GL reconciliations with attention to detail, completeness, and accuracy, including management of loan participations and FNMA loan sales reconciliations.
  5. Accounting Support: Assist the Controller with preparation and analysis of the Credit Union budget, including point-of-contact for branches and departments for annual budgeting and understanding/documenting variances.
  6. Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with analyzing investment opportunities, initiating investment transactions, and maintaining support, as well as implement process improvements and increase efficiency of workflow.

Requirements:

  • Education/Certification: Associate's degree, plus three to five years of related accounting experience, preferably in a banking environment or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Required Knowledge: Practical knowledge of accounting principles, including a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements.
  • Experience Required: General Ledger/Reporting experience, intermediate level Excel/Word, and knowledge of finance, investments, financial research, and reporting.
  • Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to project a professional appearance and positive attitude, and ability to work well in a team environment.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
