Position Overview

We are currently in search of a Financial Member Consultant dedicated to delivering an outstanding experience for our members at Greater Iowa Credit Union. This role is pivotal in assisting members with their financial needs while promoting our array of credit union products and services. The ideal candidate will identify opportunities to help members achieve their financial aspirations.

The Financial Member Consultant acts as a reliable financial guide, empowering members to make informed choices and attain financial wellness. Responsibilities include evaluating applications and providing members with tailored information regarding deposit and lending products that best suit their needs. Additionally, the role encompasses assisting members with teller transactions as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance member relationships by fostering positive experiences that deepen financial connections. Engage with members regarding their financial objectives and propose relevant solutions. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of products and respond to member inquiries, execute financial transactions, and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Guide members in understanding loan alternatives and recommend the most suitable products to fulfill their requirements. Collect necessary data and documentation for loan applications, assess applications, and determine the creditworthiness of applicants. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and follow established loan procedures. Identify opportunities to introduce additional products or services that align with members' current or future financial goals.
  • Welcome members in a professional manner, providing prompt, efficient, and accurate service through various communication channels. Ensure all member follow-ups are completed in line with service standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and maintain registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

Experience and Skills:

Experience: 1-3 years in a similar or related role.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: This role requires significant personal interaction with individuals both inside and outside the organization to build relationships and achieve member and credit union objectives. 1. Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication abilities.
2. Strong service orientation.
3. Familiarity with lending and depository regulations.
4. Ability to present information with diplomacy and tact.
5. Proficient in interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills.
6. Capability to analyze and make recommendations based on credit reports.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
8. Ability to operate standard office equipment.
9. Capacity to lift, move, or transfer items weighing up to 25 lbs.
