Work Arrangement: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote

Overview:

Our client, a prominent owner of several residential complexes catering to student housing, is seeking to expand their accounting team. With a current team of seven, including two property accountants, this role is crucial for maintaining financial accuracy and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of revenues, expenses, invoices, and other financial documents to facilitate month-end closing for properties, addressing discrepancies as necessary.
  • Prepare and input journal entries, including accruals, amortizations, deposits, and reclassifications.
  • Execute bank reconciliations, process deposits and checks, manage cash transfers, and handle resident refunds.
  • Compile and analyze financial statements for internal stakeholders, investors, and lenders on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Collaborate with on-site and other property managers to support pre-close and close activities, respond to inquiries, and ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.
  • Oversee the cash management of a portfolio of multi-family properties, which includes bill payments, bank reconciliations, and cash position analysis for each property.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new team members.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in multi-entity accounting or a relevant degree in accounting (Bachelor's preferred, Associate's acceptable).
  • Strong multitasking abilities with effective time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including accounts payable and receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Proficient in Excel and data entry.
