Program Coordinator

The Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop is seeking a part-time Project Manager to assist in a new long-term initiative focused on child-centered design. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing project execution, managing timelines and budgets, and contributing to the assessment and evaluation of project impact. This role involves managing the establishment of new partnerships and supporting project needs, including organizing meetings and events. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with team members and other departments within Sesame Workshop.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight- Monitor and manage project schedules and tasks to ensure alignment with organizational goals, meet performance metrics, and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with finance and legal teams to develop and implement contracts with external partners.
- Oversee project financials to ensure proper alignment between efforts and outcomes, track expense reports, and work with stakeholders on invoicing and financial reporting.
- Lead activities related to partner management, including identifying potential partners and drafting agreements.
- Assist in communication efforts such as public outreach, social media, events, and the collection of impact data, in coordination with team members responsible for relationships and project outcomes.
- Support the planning and execution of new and ongoing initiatives, engaging both new and existing partners.
- Implement tools and systems to enhance collaboration and coordination across projects, utilizing best practices in project management.
- Manage the department's knowledge management system, ensuring that project documentation is organized to facilitate learning.
- Provide support to team members as needed throughout project activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in project management.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring timely completion.
- Proactive problem solver with excellent interpersonal skills to navigate cross-departmental collaboration.
- Familiarity with project plans, budgets, timelines, communication tools, and performance indicators.
Additional Information
- Preferred background in education, child development, social impact, media, or related fields.
- Experience with project management software such as Asana or Airtable.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in productivity tools like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, as well as online communication platforms.
- Familiarity with social media platforms.
