**SUMMARY:**

The Arts Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the administration and management of arts initiatives within the department. This position is dedicated to enhancing the transit experience through a well-curated public art collection and innovative projects. The coordinator will assist in executing both permanent and temporary art programs, ensuring a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for all transit users.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Collaborate with department leaders on the planning and execution of art projects, including research, artist selection, and installation logistics.
  • Oversee the management of ongoing art initiatives, ensuring adherence to budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Act as a liaison between the department and external partners, facilitating effective communication and project completion.
  • Support public outreach efforts by organizing educational programs, presentations, and community engagement activities.
  • Develop high-quality content for social media and digital platforms to promote arts initiatives and engage with the public.
  • Assist in the maintenance and documentation of the public art collection, ensuring proper conservation and care of artworks.
  • Provide administrative support for special projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with departmental goals.
**Qualifications:**
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of contemporary art practices and public art commissioning processes.
  • Experience in arts administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software and MS Office applications is a plus.
