About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Development Coordinator to join our team at the Native American Youth And Family Center. This is a full-time role with work hours of 10 am to 7 pm, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

The estimated salary for this position is $25/hour, reflecting the importance of your role in supporting youth enrolled in our programs.

Job Description

  • Provide engaging afterschool tutoring that enhances youth participation and academic development.
  • Lead literacy programming activities using age-appropriate resources and personalized support to improve students' reading and writing skills.
  • Collaborate with staff to integrate literacy goals and systematically track student progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide 8th-grade students through program transition, introducing comprehensive college and career readiness resources.
  • Build meaningful relationships to foster continuous student engagement as they progress through the program.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student and family inquiries during enrollment, providing clear guidance and support.

Requirements

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree or higher is preferred.
  • You have at least six months of experience providing academic support or mentoring services.
  • Ideally, you have lived or professional experience working with diverse populations, particularly within Native American communities.
