About the Position

  • We are seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our team at Many Nations Academy, an alternative high school serving students from diverse backgrounds.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching or substituting in an alternative high school setting and a strong commitment to working with students who are historically marginalized and resilient.
  • You will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, delivering instruction, and mentoring students.
  • This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students in a variety of subjects.
  • Create lesson plans and adapt them to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Mentor and coach students to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Experience in teaching or substituting in an alternative high school setting.
  • Strong commitment to working with students who are historically marginalized and resilient.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.
