Iowa Orthopedic Center is in search of a Patient Experience Specialist to enhance our front office operations. Responsibilities:

  • Open the reception area promptly and oversee lobby activities.
  • Greet on-site visitors, ascertain their purpose, and notify the appropriate personnel.
  • Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and assist patients and visitors.
  • Adapt to changes in front desk procedures with a positive attitude.
  • Prepare patient records by reviewing and updating necessary information.
  • Assist patients with technology for check-in and personal information updates.
  • Input and update data in the clinic's management system as required.
  • Check-in patients by verifying demographic and insurance details, and collecting payments.
  • Facilitate payment arrangements by coordinating with financial counselors.
  • Check-out patients by processing payments and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Ensure accurate daily financial reconciliation.
  • Perform front office tasks efficiently and assist with additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of health insurance is essential.
  • Previous experience in a medical office is preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Respond to interdepartmental requests promptly and courteously.
  • Demonstrate decision-making skills and follow through on tasks.
  • Adapt to new responsibilities with a positive mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately.
  • Capable of standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Proficient in using a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility needs.
