Position Title: Project Engineer II

Role Overview:
The Project Engineer II is pivotal in overseeing the development and certification of advanced aircraft initiatives. This role entails crafting and managing product plans that align with project milestones, ensuring a seamless transition to certification and operational readiness.

Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in Avionics, Connectivity, or SATCOM systems.
- Experience with aircraft interiors and complex commodities throughout the design lifecycle.
- Familiarity with MS Project for schedule development and resource allocation.
- Proven leadership capabilities in project management and effective communication.
- Experience in collaborating with suppliers and engaging with diverse teams.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field is required, along with 13 years of engineering experience. Relevant advanced degrees may provide limited experience credit.

Position Objectives:
Responsible for the comprehensive development and certification processes of advanced aircraft projects. This includes:
  1. Formulating developmental plans for major aircraft programs or components, including resource allocation.
  2. Defining project scope, task descriptions, budget estimates, and manpower requirements.
  3. Assessing project feasibility concerning functionality, resource availability, and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Proactively identifying potential project challenges and implementing preventative measures.
  5. Delegating tasks to team members while ensuring adherence to schedules and requirements.
  6. Keeping management updated on project progress, challenges, and financial status.
  7. Facilitating collaboration among engineering functions and related activities.
  8. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry-relevant technical advancements.
  9. Approving engineering data to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  10. Striving for continuous improvement in processes to meet customer expectations.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Enhancing daily operations to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
  2. Staying informed about technical developments pertinent to the industry.

Other Qualifications:
  1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  2. Accountability for technical decisions related to aircraft configuration.
  3. Collaboration with other engineers and management to ensure system compatibility.
  4. Leadership in guiding staff to utilize proper methodologies and decision-making criteria.
  5. Ability to present technical and team status clearly to senior management.
  6. Organizing and leading technical meetings with suppliers.
  7. Preparing accurate status reports reflecting team initiatives.
  8. Developing and managing budgets for projects, monitoring expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
