Position Title: Project Engineer II

Company: General Dynamics

Role Overview:
As a Project Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in the development and certification of advanced aircraft projects. You will be responsible for creating and managing comprehensive product plans that align with project milestones leading to successful certification and entry into service.

Essential Duties:
  1. Develop and implement strategic plans for major aircraft programs or components, ensuring all necessary resources are identified.
  2. Define project scope, task descriptions, budget estimates, and manpower requirements, while adhering to corporate objectives.
  3. Evaluate the feasibility of projects concerning functionality, resource availability, and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Proactively identify potential challenges related to technical aspects, budgets, and schedules, and devise preventive measures.
  5. Delegate tasks to team members and provide supervision to ensure project timelines and requirements are met.
  6. Keep upper management informed about project progress, significant challenges, and budgetary considerations.
  7. Facilitate project management across engineering disciplines and coordinate with various stakeholders, including program management and external partners.
  8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry advancements relevant to the projects.
  9. Review and approve engineering documentation to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes and ensure all outputs meet customer expectations.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Foster a culture of continuous improvement in daily operations to meet customer needs.
  2. Stay informed about technical innovations within the aerospace sector.

Qualifications:
  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  2. Accountable for technical decisions regarding aircraft configuration for assigned projects, including design, analysis, and certification.
  3. Collaborate with other project engineers and management to ensure system compatibility and alignment with shared objectives.
  4. Provide leadership to team members, ensuring effective methodologies and decision-making processes are followed.
  5. Exhibit sound judgment to escalate decisions to senior management when necessary.
  6. Effectively present technical updates and team progress to program and senior management.
  7. Organize and lead technical meetings with suppliers to ensure project alignment.
  8. Prepare comprehensive status reports that accurately reflect team initiatives and project health.
  9. Develop and manage strategic budgets, monitoring expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Additional Information:
