Position Title: Senior Liaison Engineer, Service Engineering

Role Overview:
As a Senior Liaison Engineer within the Service Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and production of advanced aerospace products. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring compliance with engineering standards and enhancing operational efficiency.

Essential Skills:
  1. Proficient understanding of aircraft structural design, coupled with hands-on experience in assessing discrepancies and formulating structural repair solutions.
  2. Experience in liaison engineering within a post-production or production Material Review Board (MRB) context.
  3. Competence in utilizing computer-aided design tools such as Smart Team, CCD, CATIA V4 & V5, AutoCAD, and GSBI for aircraft structure analysis and design.
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Capability to collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and management in a dynamic hangar or shop floor environment.
  6. Adaptability to transition swiftly between tasks while managing multiple priorities concurrently.
  7. Physical ability to navigate scaffolding or support equipment to assess and address aircraft discrepancies.
  8. Basic proficiency in static stress analysis to support engineering decisions and structural repair documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Prior experience with Gulfstream engineering projects, including models such as GIV, G450, GV, G550, G650, G500, G600, G700, G400, and G800.
  2. Familiarity with Maintenance and Structural Repair Manuals.
  3. Foundational knowledge of composite and metal-bonded structure design and repair methodologies.
  4. Understanding of applicable FAA regulations and the process of ensuring compliance in both production and post-production settings.
  5. Experience working with international airworthiness regulatory bodies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables you to perform the essential functions of the role. A minimum of 5 years in a specific technical discipline or 10 years of broad engineering experience across multiple disciplines is expected. Experience credit for advanced degrees is limited to 2 years for a Master's and 4 years for a PhD in applicable fields.

Position Purpose:
Your role will involve assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of design, analysis, and liaison engineering tasks that support the development and production of General Dynamics products and services.

Core Duties:
  1. Contribute to the planning and coordination of significant engineering projects.
  2. Provide specialized technical support to team members.
  3. Employ advanced techniques and theoretical modifications to address complex engineering challenges.
  4. Develop and implement solutions while adhering to schedule and budget constraints.
  5. Work with minimal supervision, with your work primarily reviewed for accuracy and alignment with overall objectives.
  6. Act as a liaison with external representatives to facilitate project goals.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Continuously seek to enhance daily processes and ensure all outputs meet customer expectations.
  2. Stay informed of advancements in your area of expertise and related aircraft fields to propose improvements that enhance product quality and effectiveness.
